A narcissist will take the most valuable thing you have until you gave it all.
You’re giving a narcissist is the most important thing that you have. Your time.
There’s nothing more valuable than your time.
Even money which is a very important aspect of life is not as valuable as your time.
If someone gave you one million dollars tomorrow and said you could have that but you could only live one more day then you know you wouldn’t take the money. You could only live for one more day and yet you’re giving the most valuable thing to someone who is disloyal, dishonest, is not treating you well, is lying or cheating, diminishing you and overall just not treating you well.
You’re giving away the most valuable thing. Why? For what?
You can 20 years from now look back still stay in this hazy period with a narcissist and see yourself 20 years down the line suddenly maybe then breaking out.
You hear stories of other people that have been with a narcissist for 20 30 years. And that’s what you want? Another 10 years 20 years until you break out?
And then looking back and realizing all the things that you could have done.
All the things you got distracted from.
All the things could have bettered your life or make your life a really good life just passed you by.
For what? What did the narcissist give you that made it worth it to give the most valuable thing that you have?
Money can be made. Things that got broken or destroyed can be replaced but your time, your time cannot be replaced. It’s something that you’re never going to get back and something the narcissist is going to try to extract as much out of you as they can. Keep you in that relationship until like they took it all.
Don’t do it. Don’t give your most valuable thing to someone who doesn’t deserve it.
There’s nothing that a narcissist can give you that would make worth the time that you have lost in dealing with them and I’m not even just talking about keeping your sanity and your peace or stress-free environment but really your time.
So don’t give it away. It’s worth a lot more. Treat your time better as it deserves it and don’t just hand it freely away to every person.
